The Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is a vibrant entity of knowledge, dedicated to cultivating broad perception and critical thinking for the personnel serving the Nation. Our mission is to consistently provide high-quality stimuli of general education, extending beyond the boundaries of strictly military or service-specific training.
The heart of the Institute beats to the rhythm of volunteerism. Here, knowledge is an end in itself. Participants do not seek awards, certifications, or career advancement. Driven solely by the motivation for self-improvement, they dedicate their free time to broadening their intellectual horizons, becoming better leaders and more well-rounded individuals.
This is the magic of the ICE: perpetual learning by choice, not by obligation.

Our themes cover a vast spectrum responding to modern challenges: from History, International Politics, and Geostrategy, to Economy, New Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Professor Dr. Aristidis K. Giapalis
Professor Dr. Aristidis K. Giapalis is the soul and founder of the Institute of Continuing Education. As the visionary behind this project, he conceived the idea of an innovative educational institution that would offer holistic knowledge to the personnel of the Armed Forces and Security Corps.
With his academic background and unwavering belief in the value of education, he laid the foundations for an institution that continues to evolve to this day, honoring his original inspiration.

Our History
The Institute was born in 2012 from an innovative initiative by Professor Dr. Aristidis Giapalis, which was embraced and implemented in cooperation with the then Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS), General Mikhail Kostarakos.
From its first day of operation until today, the Institute has never suspended its activities. Not a single lecture hour has ever been missed. This uninterrupted course constitutes its greatest milestone and living proof of the speakers' dedication, the participants' thirst for learning, and the timeless value of the vision that created it.
